Event Description

Join us for a sunny, cyanotype workshop lead by Earthly Bodies, an artistic project by Ellie Parker and Elana Engelman-Lado.

A cyanotype is a photographic printing process that uses sunlight to reveal cyan-blue images — no darkroom required! In this workshop, participants will experiment with different stencil-making techniques to create their own negatives on materials like paper and fabric, which are coated in a light-sensitive solution. Once exposed to the sun, the stencils leave behind a white silhouette while surrounding areas transform into deep shades of blue. All are welcome, no prior experience necessary! Come explore the many ways to make a cyanotype image and take home your own sun-printed pieces! All participants will receive an instructional zine as well outlining the processes we cover in class.

*Previously, this workshop fell on 4/6. It has been rescheduled due to forecasted rain and will be happening on 7/27!
