La Mama x DU MoveMEANT Sessions

Weʻve teamed up with La Mama Experimental Theater Club for another year of monthly MoveMEANT sessions! Join us to explore enriching storytelling through freestyle movement and open discussion. Each month, a different spotlight artist/facilitator will share their creative processes that combine freestyle techniques to shift perspectives. This year we are taking it a step further, incorporating discussion and exploration surrounding banned books. Each session we will choice a book to dive into and explore, create moveMEANT narratives about. These books are part of our history, part of our culture, tools for our future so it’s important to us that they continue to be read and uplifted.

This is a space curated for healing, exploration, and learning – for movers from all different disciplines who are looking to find or refine their artistic voices. We will jam, discover, and share with one another, cultivating unbreakable connections in our practices and community.

Fee: $10 pre-registration; $20 at the door

Liability Waiver

By completing the reservation, I/we (the dancer and parent/guardian) assume all risks related to the use of any and all spaces used by Dances Unlimited. I/we agree to release and hold harmless Dancers Unlimited including its teachers, dancers, staff members, volunteers and facilities used by both entities from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future. I/we will not hold Dancers Unlimited liable for any personal injury or any personal property damage, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes. Furthermore, I/we agree to obey the event and facility rules and take full responsibility for my/our behavior in addition to any damage I/we may cause to the facilities utilized by Dancers Unlimited.

I understand that Dancers Unlimited is a licensed and insured business. In the event that I/we should observe any unsafe conduct or conditions before, during or after my/our classes, I/we agree to report the unsafe conduct or conditions to the Owner, Director, Instructor or Staff member as soon as possible.

Media Release

I authorize Dancers Unlimited (the “Organization”) and its partners, agents, representatives, assigns, successors in interest and licensees, to photograph, audiotape, and/or videotape me and grant the Organization and its partners the irrevocable right to use my photograph, audio recording, video recording, or any reproduction or modification thereof (the “Photograph,” “Audio,” and/or “Video”), in any manner or medium throughout the world an unlimited number of times in perpetuity in advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition, or any other lawful purpose. I understand that I will not receive any monetary compensation for the permissions I am granting herein. I hereby waive any right of inspection of approval of the uses to which the Organization may put the Photograph, Audio, and/or Video. I acknowledge the Organization will rely on this permission and hereby release and discharge the Organization from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the Photograph or the exercise of the permissions granted here, including any or all claims for libel, invasion of privacy, or emotional distress. I understand that I cannot withdraw my consent after I sign this form and that this consent and release is binding on me and my heirs, legal representatives and assigns.
